Pine Valley Mountain Laccolith, Utah

pine valley mountains laccoliths and the virgin anticline near Washington, Utah, USA - terrain / topography map

Close to the "eroded" Virgin anticline is the Pine Valley Mountains Laccolith, one of the largest if not the largest in the world. Laccoliths are a real puzzle to Geologists as they do not make any sense. Much like the middle of the Virgin Anticline being eroded away but not looking like it ever was an anticline.

The mountain area near it but to the East of the PVMs and the Virgin River anticline looks similar to a Lichentberg Figure and the Grand Canyon.
